Shoe Dilemma!

I live in a wonderful little townhouse that is perfect in every way…except for one. I don’t have a walk-in closet. “What?”…I hear you asking…”How do you do it? How do you possibly organize your shoes without the luxury of that space?”

Let me tell you. It isn’t easy. It was truly a dilemma that required considerable thought and contemplation. Until one day, I found a solution at my local home improvement store. It wasn’t meant for shoe storage, but it’ll do in a pinch. Stackable-bins in fabulous fake wood-tone!

This solution, however, brought with it another dilemma. As you might recall, I have a puppy in the house. While I love him dearly…he’s a puppy. Upon seeing this brand new collection of “toys”, which I can only imagine him thinking that they were all set out for his personal chew toy pleasure, he proceeded to take off with my favorite pair of turquoise peek-toe pumps. Ughhh! I soooo should have seen this coming! Time for more considerable thought and contemplation.

Ah Ha! I’ve got it. I grabbed my car keys and handbag and ran out the door heading to my local Walmart. First to the school supplies aisle. There it is! A cardboard display board for school projects. Now, off to the fabric section to find a beautiful piece of fabric remnant, to cover the display board and also compliment my bedroom decor. Found it. Now, back home to put it together.

Hmm. What do you know. It works! While it isn’t up to the finest standards of “The Housewives of Orange County”, it works for this girl from South King County.

In Genius…is the puppy out of the dog house?

Hi Angel! Unfortunately, I am a sucker for those beautiful brown eyes that stare up at me with complete innocence. Not only is he out of the dog house…I probably gave him a doggy biscuit for giving me my shoe back! I think I need to revisit puppy parenting class!
